After completing the gymnasium (pre-university education) in 1996, Camiel Hanegraaf took a Master’s degree course in Dutch law (Private Law, Public & Corporate Law and International Law), a Master’s degree course in Notarial Law, and a Master's degree International Law Course at the University of Utrecht. In addition to studying law, he also took violin lessons and Music Theory courses at the music academies of Tilburg and Rotterdam. In 2000 Camiel completed the Grotius Property Specialist Course cum laude. In 2011 he successfully completed a Master’s degree course in Tax Law (Dutch Tax Law and International & European Tax Law) at the University of Amsterdam.
As from 1996 Camiel worked as a candidate civil-law notary and for several years as a (deputy) civil-law notary at several renowned large and medium-sized law firms and civil-law notaries’ firms. Camiel switch to the legal profession in early 2012. He has been a member of BANNING’s Corporate and M&A practice group since June 2016. In addition to his work at BANNING, Camiel also works as an external PhD candidate at the University of Leiden. His PhD subject is the liability of directors and officers of legal entities. His PhD thesis supervisor is Prof S.M. Bartman.
