After completing his gymnasium pre-university education in 1996, Camiel Hanegraaf took a Master’s degree course in Dutch law (graduating in Private Law, Economic Public and Business Law, and International Law), a Master’s degree course in Notarial Law and the International Legal Studies Master’s degree course at the University of Utrecht. In addition to studying law, he also took violin lessons and music theory courses at the Tilburg and Rotterdam Schools of Music. In 2000 Camiel completed the Grotius Property Specialist Course cum laude. In 2011 he successfully completed a Tax Law Master’s degree course (graduating in Dutch Tax Law and in International & European Tax Law) at the University of Amsterdam.
Since 1996 Camiel has worked as a candidate civil-law notary and for several years as a (deputy) civil-law notary at several renowned large and medium-sized law firms and firms of civil-law notaries. He switched to the legal profession in early 2012.
Since June 2016 Camiel has been a member of BANNING’s Corporate and M&A practice group. He obtained a doctoral degree at the University of Leiden on the basis of his doctoral thesis "Art. 2:11 BW, doorgeefluik van bestuurdersaansprakelijkheid". His doctoral thesis supervisor was Prof S.M. Bartman.
