Evert van Gelderen is an intellectual property lawyer. He graduated from the University of Utrecht in two fields: private law, specialising in intellectual property law, and economic public and business law. Evert is a specialist in the fields of copyright law, trademark law, trade name law, design law and portrait law. His advises on the protection of names and products, litigates on trademarks and counterfeit goods, and draws up operating and licensing agreements. He represents Dutch and international companies in different sectors, including fashion & cosmetics, toys, automotive and household electronics. Before joining Banning in 2016, Evert was a partner at De Gier | Stam & Advocaten in Utrecht, where he was in charge of the intellectual property practice group for almost 15 years. Evert also regularly lectures in his field and is one of the main editors of IE-forum, as well as a regular guest on BNR news radio. Evert is enterprising, competent, people-friendly and open-minded. He is an active member of several professional associations, including the International Trademark Association (INTA), the Vereniging voor Auteursrecht (Dutch Copyright Association) and the BMM (Benelux Trademark Law and Design Law Association).
