Floris de Vriend completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree course in IT Law at the University of Groningen. He wrote his thesis about the balance of the privacy impacts and the collecting of online data concerning a proposed legislative bill which aimed to expand and update the power of the Dutch intelligence agency.
In addition to his studies, Floris worked as a website operator. Also, he worked as the coordinator of the Legal Helpdesk in Groningen where he provided citizens with free legal advice. He completed several internships at law firms in which he, amongst other fields, gained experience in Intellectual Property Law.
Since July 2017, Floris works at BANNING for the Intellectual Property, IT & Privacy section, where he started as a paralegal, and works as an attorney since February 2018. Floris will, mostly, advise on IP rights and their enforcement.
