Martijn Jongmans has been a member of Banning’s EU and Competition Law practice group since 1 January 2011. Martijn studied Law and History at Radboud University in Nijmegen, after which he obtained an LL.M at King's College (London). Martijn specializes in cartel, procurement and state aid law, and works for both private and public parties. He focuses in particular on “Market & Government” issues.
Martijn’s expertise and experience perfectly supplement the practice group. Martijn worked for many years as an attorney at the State Advocate’s office, where he represented both the central government (including supervisory authorities such as the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) and the OPTA) and local authorities in a wide range of cases. Martijn is an expert not only in the public sector but, having worked as a competition lawyer at Philips, also understands the needs of the (international) business community.
