Sophia Wittkämper obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Dutch Law at the University of Leiden. She also studied at the University of East Anglia in England for one semester, where she took subjects in the field of European law and competition law. Sophia completed the European Competition Law and Regulation specialist Master’s degree course at the University of Amsterdam. She wrote her doctoral thesis on the application of the cartel prohibition in the healthcare sectors in the Netherlands and England.
During her studies Sophia frequently worked for the law faculty of the University of Leiden, e.g. as chair of the ELSA student society, as a student assistant and as secretary of the editorial board of the ECHR case law section of the Nederlands Juristen Blad. She also completed a traineeship at the Competition and Public Procurement practice group of a Dutch law firm in Brussels, Belgium, and at the Competition and Public Procurement department of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Sophia has worked as a legal assistant in the Competition & Procurement practice group at BANNING since November 2016.
