Sophia specialises in contract law and competition law. She provides companies with strategic and legal advice on (the competition law aspects of) commercial contracts, in particular with regard to distribution, agency, franchise and cooperation agreements, and regularly represents clients in civil court proceedings. She also advises on cartel agreements, state aid and the abuse of dominant positions, and assists companies with notifications of mergers and acquisitions. Furthermore, Sophia advises on trade-related European legislation, more specifically in relation to product and packaging requirements, consumer rights and unfair commercial practices.
Sophia mainly represents medium-sized to large companies and trade associations, operating in a wide range of sectors, such as automotive, retail, healthcare and (organic) food. She is driven and eager to get to the bottom of complex issues. Sophia converts legal concepts into effective remedies and undertakes to proactively contribute ideas, in order to provide clients with suitable solutions.
