Arjen has been active in real estate since 1997 and has been a real estate lawyer since 2000. He mainly advises and litigates in the field of real estate transactions and investments, commercial landlord and tenant law (the Dutch Association of Landlord and Tenant Law Practitioners (VHA), cum laude), construction law, purchase and conveyance, project development, and real estate-related corporate law.
Many of Arjen’s clients themselves operate in real estate, both in the Netherlands and abroad. They include investors, family offices, contractors, property developers and property financiers. But he also assists companies that are not active in real estate, since almost every company is faced with real estate issues, if only because it is run from an office, shop, hotel, warehouse, logistics centre, etc. Arjen also acts for franchise chains.
Arjen’s working method can best be summarised as practical when possible, detailed and sharp when necessary, but always inspired and committed. In addition to the interests at stake, he always closely scrutinises the characters of the parties involved. That often produces the best results.
His clients thinks he is “to the point,” can think strategically and often comes up with creative solutions.
