A long awaited reform of the Dutch merger control regulation is finally coming near in 2006. At the same time the Dutch Competition Authority seizes the opportunity to extend its powers in the field of enforcement. The Dutch Competition Authority (NMa) responsible for the enforcement of the Dutch Competition Act (DCA) has in the last few years evolved into an active supervisor of the Dutch market. The new legislative proposal forms a part of this development in Dutch law.
